In 2006, we decided that it was time to build our own yacht yard for major projects. We wanted to do it our way, in a place we could continue to offer the quality craftsmanship and service we've been proud to provide for over 20 years. In April 2007, Moores Marine Yacht Center opened for business on 18 acres in Beaufort, N.C. The Yacht Center includes a marine store and a boat shop large enough for boats up to 55 feet. There's more to come, including plans for a 165 foot paint shed.
Quality is in the details and our master craftsmen specialize in laser-targeting, a process whereby we make sure the vessel maintains its hull shape both in the water and blocked-up on land.
Yachts require careful placement of slings at bulkheads to avoid damage during haulout and our craftsmen supervise every step of the way from haul out, blocking to launching.
Whether you choose North Carolina or South Florida, you will be dealing with a member of our family, Jim, Stephanie or Nathan. Nathan Smith, Jim's brother-in-law, has been with the company since 1991 and is launching our North Carolina facility while Jim handles our busy South Florida operation. Stephanie is racking up the frequent flier miles, swinging back and forth between the two.
At either location, we offer quality craftmanship, straight forward billing and to stand behind our word. We keep promises because we won't make them if we can't deliver.
